The Tadoba Tiger Reserve is situated in the Chandrapur District of state Maharashtra in India. The oldest and largest national park in Maharashtra is Tadoba Tiger Reserve . It is created in 1955 which includes Tadoba National Park and the Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary. The total area of the forest is 626 square kilometers which include Tadoba national park covered by an area of 116 square km also Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary covered an area of 508 square km. The rest of the area is covered by a protected forest and uncategorized land. The word " Tadoba" is taken from the God name "TARU". In 1955, the 116 square km area was declared as a National park and 508 square km area consists of Tadoba Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary which created a forest in 1986. But in 1995 both National park and Andhari Wildlife Sanctuary were merged and created a new National park called Tadaba National Park .
